Listening to parents.

This year is already off to a busy start, helping parents to complete the pre-diagnosis questionnaire they have to complete as part of the neurodiversity assessment process.

I can see how daunting this process can be, completing a 32 page form.

It’s great that I can help to guide them through this. Knowing what information an assessment team might be looking for is really helpful but understandably many parents don’t have this insight.

Putting down on paper the life of their child isn’t easy. The questions help but the easiest thing is to just listen to the parent and I can then translate it onto the form.

It reminds me that however how many leaflets, guidelines information and internet access you have, often you just need to talk to someone.

I may be mistaken but I don’t think AI will be replacing that any time soon.

Or am I wrong?
