Too much autism training?
Is the autism training market saturated?
This is the allegation that was made against me last week with the implication I should step aside in favour of autistic-led services/organisations/people.
Two points to respond to this (amongst many others):
There is still a vast lack of understanding of autism across society, so there is definitely a need for more training.
The priority should be the ability to deliver good training (that is specific and effective for that audience).
So there is a real need for access to a wide variety of autism training to suit different audiences, needs and priorities.
Often, the best training is delivered by those with experience close to that of the audience.
If the autism training market is saturated (which it definitely isn’t), is it those who don’t deliver good training that should step aside?
What do you think?? Let me know here.
