Boxes, labels and belonging.
Putting people in boxes is a basic human instinct.
It’s how we try to understand other people.
We do it to ourselves. Labels that we identify ourselves by.
Some we are happy with. Usually those we have actively chosen (people who live in my street, people with a spaniel, people who paint pictures).
Other labels (boxes) are accidents of birth (people from Yorkshire, people born in the 60s, people with cold hands).
Some we are happy with, some we might not be.
The point is:
Are we in any boxes we want to get out of?
What boxes (labels) do others put us in that we want to change?
What do you think? Let me know here.
