Autism and the next leap forward

Human progression from the prehistoric caves to the futuristic cities will not have been a steady smooth upward curve of progress. Even in recent times think about the speed of change caused by the invention of the internet. And how different the world is within a couple of decades. The same could probably be said about the invention of the wheel, growing crops, the printing press and so on.  Sudden leaps forward in society.

I can’t remember who said this (probably Temple Grandin who often says what others think but can’t say), ‘behind every giant leap forward for mankind will have been an autistic mind’.  The ability to focus, imagine, think differently, persevere despite ridicule; the advantages of the autistic mind must be behind most huge changes. (remember autistic people don’t like change!)

If ever we needed massive worldwide change it’s now. Overpopulation, Covid-19, the next pandemic, climate change,
